WAY TO GO App launches new auto-record feature

WAY TO GO users will now see a new feature when they login to the app: the ability to auto-record your trips.

This means you don’t have to manually record your carpool trips or bike ride to the grocery store to record your trips and earn rewards.

To enable this option, members are required to share their location and activity data. Auto-recording is an optional feature that members can turn on or off at any time they like. This new feature is currently in beta mode, so members may occasionally encounter errors. If this occurs, let us know here so we can investigate and improve the feature.

Questions

Does the app have access to a member’s location and physical/motion activity when they’re not using the app?

Yes, the app is working silently in the background once the feature is enabled. Only trips specified by the member will be recorded and all other data will be deleted. If a member has set up a do-not-disturb schedule (such as on the weekends) no trips will be recorded during these times and all data will be deleted.

What if the app did not accurately detect and record the trip set up to auto-record?

Auto-recording is currently in beta mode, which means it is still in a testing phase and not considered final. Members may occasionally encounter errors, and whenever this occurs, let us know here so we can investigate and improve the feature.

Can auto-record be turned off?

Yes, members can turn off auto-record at any time by toggling the “on/off” switch for any specified trips on the “Auto-Record Trips” page, or by deleting these trip profiles.

How long does it take for an auto-recorded trip to appear on a member’s trip calendar?

It may take up to 24 hours to auto-record a trip.
