Once again, we’ve partnered with the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) on the annual Bike Month campaign for the region. This year’s theme is “Bikes Connect Us” in hopes of highlighting all of the ways bikes connect people and places.
What is Bike Month?
National Bike Month, which occurs in May each year, was established by the League of American Bicyclists in 1956 with the purpose of celebrating the joy of cycling in communities across the country.
How to Celebrate Bike Month
- Ride your bike to work or school and log your trips
It’s never a bad time to try adding a bike to your commute, but Bike Month is an even better time! Plus, if you log your bike trip on the free WAY TO GO app, you’re eligible for monthly gift card drawings and discounts from local businesses. - Join the Bikes Connect Us Community Ride
MARC and WAY TO GO are partnering with community-ride group, Women-Led Cycling, to host a community bike ride on May 25! This free, family-friendly event will include participation from more than five community ride groups. Learn more about the ride.
